The link below is to a blog written by a friend of mine, that recapped the recent events of the Miami Dade Animal Shelter, and the protest that took place, Tuesday, February 15th. Written well by Heather, she emphasizes on the shelter itself and why such a group of animal activist would reach out to the public and ask for help. The goal is simple, a new state of the art facility to be built for the animals, new management which includes the removal of Dr. Sara Pizano, and change in policies to make the organization run more smoothly.
Can there be compromise? The solution seems simple enough, so why the fight? Well it is made clear in several reports that issue is not the director, nor the shelter, it's the public! Us, we, taxpayer's, are at fault for the underlying problems. Wow! Does it seem fair to point finger's in the direction of the people that support their salaries?
